The practice Dentists, Therapists and Nurses engage in regular personal and professional development. Our objective is to keep up to date with current thinking on all aspects of Dentistry, especially preventative care which can reduce your need for dental treatment.
At Park Street Dental, all new staff members joining the practice are given training in practice procedures, and there is an ongoing programme to review the training needs of everyone in the practice.
Dr Phil Welch
Practice Owner – BDS. (Hons) London MFDS. RCSEd – GDC no. 85936
Qualified with honours as a dental surgeon in 2005 from Guys, Kings and St Thomas school of dentistry, University of London.
After qualifying, Dr Welch moved back to Wales and did his vocational training in Cardigan. In 2006 Dr Welch became an associate dentist in a dental practice in Neath. In 2010 he came a member of the faculty of dental surgery, The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. After working in Neath for 7 years he decided it was time to buy his own practice and has become the principal dentist here in Park Street Dental.
Dr Welch is up to date with the latest advances in dentistry and regularly attends continual professional development courses, which have included a one-year implant course, adult orthodontics, and composite bonding courses including Avante Garde and Jason Smithson to name just a few. Dr Welch believes in pain-free dentistry and focuses on prevention and individually tailored oral health programs for all his patients.
He understands how distressing dental phobia can be, which can lead to stress/anxiety and poor oral health. Here in Park Street, Dr Phil Welch and his team will take the time to alleviate all these fears and help you maintain good oral health and regain confidence.
Dr Welch undertakes all types of cosmetic dentistry from veneers, and composite bonding to clear braces, to achieve the smile patients want and deserve.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Welch has a young family and enjoys keeping fit, he runs for Bridgend A.C. and has run 3 marathons and numerous half marathons. He has also represented Wales in Touch Rugby and has achieved his 50th cap.
Dr Bethan Lewis

Beth Lewis qualified in Cardiff in 2006.
Since qualifying, she has completed 2 postgraduate courses with Paul Tipton and the Tipton Training Academy, in restorative and aesthetic dentistry. She has also attended a smile design course in Kiev with Maxim Belograd. Beth has completed an Invisalign Go qualification.
Beth is a very personable dentist and passionate about educating children in oral hygiene care and dietary habits.
Beth worked as an associate in Merthyr for 14 years. However, having moved to Ogmore by Sea she joined the practice in September 2019, to support her young family, and has never looked back.
Beth is married and has 3 young boys and a lively Spanish water dog called Luna. She enjoys paddle boarding, walking and socialising with a glass of bubbles and some chocolate.
Dr Flo King
BDS (Hons) – GDC no. 289259
Flo was born and grew up in Sussex before moving to Cardiff for University where she graduated in 2020.
She has been working as a general dental practitioner since graduating and seeks to pursue the highest possible standard of dentistry while ensuring it is sustainable and holistic. She is passionate about her clinical work and has particular interest in restorative and periodontic dentistry.
She has further training in facial aesthetics, removable aligners, anterior fixed orthodontics and dental acupuncture. She has a patient centred approach to treatment and puts great emphasis on getting to know her patients.
She was awarded the Welsh Sustainability Hero Special Award and sits as the dental lead for Green Health Wales national steering group. She has further training in sustainable healthcare and enjoys educating practices in South Wales on Sustainable Dentistry at speaking events.
In her spare time, Flo enjoys running, hiking and cooking vegan meals. She loves animals and has two very fluffy cats.
